Teenage Pregnancy awareness week!

Its Teenage Pregnancy awareness week! WMACA has dealt with several cases where victims are the children of very young mothers who are often left vulnerable to abuse and neglected as their young moms struggle to survive and or continue with their education.

In one of our cases a client in Grade 7 at a Primary School in the Verulam area gave birth to twins. WMACA on home visits to the young mom after the babies returned home found that she had locked them up while going out. The babies are now in the care of their maternal great grand mother

Tip off from neighbours in Redcliff

The picture was taken by well known artist and photographer Jacki Bruniquel who accompanied the WMACA Advocacy Manager after WMACA received an anonymous tip off from neighbours of this house in Redcliff, Verulam where two children, 3yrs old and 11months old were found abandoned for days by their mother.

We have made a decision to keep the public more informed about what is happening to so many children in our country and how so many children in need are being let down by irregularities in the services rendered by the various relevant government departments.
